The Chimei Museum is a world-renowned museum located in the city of Tainan, Taiwan. It was founded by Taiwanese entrepreneur Shi Wen-long in 1992 and officially opened to the public in 1992. The museum is housed in a grand and elegant building and covers an area of 31,000 square meters. The museum's collection includes over 13,000 art pieces, musical instruments, weaponry, natural history specimens, fossils, and other artifacts from around the world. The collection is divided into six galleries, each showcasing a different theme. The Western Art Gallery features works by European masters such as Rembrandt, Van Gogh, and Monet, while the Natural History Gallery includes fossils and specimens of plants, animals, and minerals. The Musical Instruments Gallery has an extensive collection of instruments from different cultures and time periods, and the Arms and Armor Gallery showcases weaponry from ancient times to the present day. The Chimei Museum is also home to a beautiful outdoor sculpture garden featuring works by both local and international artists. The garden covers an area of 33,000 square meters and features over 200 sculptures.
