Merit Mar Del Plata Hotel

We booked in on Friday after a long journey for a week to visit our son and wife whom are working there. We went down for breakfast on Saturday morning at 8.45 my wife left her handbag on the table for 20 seconds turned around and her bag was missing. We lost her phone and loads of cash. We went to reception and explained. No apology for 45 minutes we waited while people were checked in cases put in hold still no update. Eventually we were date down and informed that cctv had been viewed and someone had entered the hotel, walked past reception into the dining room stolen the bag and walked away. We were given the address of police and told to report it. Still no apology. We complained to the company we booked it with and got a full refund. We were really concerned about security and couldn’t believe it there was 3 people on reception as we checked out 3 days early holiday ruined. To be fair the rooms were nice and reasonably priced. Just be aware of your valuables.

Everything is quite acceptable. The only thing the restaurant is not the same as it was years ago. Very friendly staff. There are no rooms adapted to people with reduced mobility; something to improve and offer comfort to the guest who needs it. Breakfast is still good.

The top floor with balcony was excellent with a good pluffy bed to top it up! The door to the large balcony has a roller blinds perfect for a long night of rest. The breakfast buffet food choises and service was excellent
