Alma de Plata Buenos Aires Hotel

Regular. Good DJ, good atmosphere, good cocktails and glasses in the cocktail bar. Slow service. Regular meals, more to be expected for their values. Low price/quality balance. Garzones doing their maximum effort, but with low training

The staff are very nice, friendly and helpful. Our room was pretty big and bed comfortable. There was soap in the bathroom (not always the case in South America) and shower cabin was large. Wardrobe, desk, TV, air conditioning in the room. Pretty good location, with only 10 minutes walk to Independencia metro line and few restaurants and shops around. Room was smelling cigarettes when we came in (probably from old times when smoking was allowed). There were no sockets next to the bed, which made charging phones difficult. We couldn't turn on personal lights, located above the bed. Wi-fi was of terrible quality, constantly turning on and off. Our window view was of internal to the building area were pigoens were "hanging out", making it quite noisy at times. The hotel was ok. We booked premium room - don’t really know what was premium about it, very basic room, quite small, small bathroom. We had a lot of luggage and had problems moving around. The safe didn’t work - called the reception twice, never got it fixed. Small bathroom, no mirror in the room, just the bathroom. Very thin doors - we could hear everything In the morning. The location was ok, about 20 min walk to the obelisco and 25-30 to San Telmo. WiFi a bit slow but working okay inside the rooms. Nice and friendly staff. We had one more booking four weeks later but cancelled as weren’t impressed with the property.
