Bauen Suite Hotel

The Only Good thing about this hotel is it's Location, Nothing more! If you have issues with anything about the room such as hot water, internet not working don't bother asking for them to fix cause they won't! It advertised that it is a kitchenette, their definition of that and how they advertise that the "apartments" have cooking facilities is by them Throwing a 10 year old microwave into the room and Voila it is now a kitchenette with cooking facilities! Hahahaha, very sad but Very True! And let me tell you how people have noted that the property was so called "Retro"...well Old and Crappy are better words to use! I felt like I was transported to the end of the Disco Era And beginning of the 80's where they couldn't quite tell which Era they prefer more! Its Nasty! Ugly! Lord knows in which decade those bed spreads and sheets were made or last cleaned! Hair all thru the bedding and bathroom, completely Nasty! If you care about hygiene, Don't stay! If you want to sleep without the sounds of a Mob or stampede coming at ya, Don't stay cause you will never feel at peace due to the loud, rice paper thin walls from this Out dated Relic!As well as the water that builds up on floor when it rains and will soak anything you may have on the floor! And the Staff are Totally Rude not to mention Ignorant and Racist!

The staff was excellent. The location was superb. I don't think any other hotel in all of Buenos Aires is closer to a Subte metro system stop. There are also lots of places to eat nearby including one of the few Starbucks in all of Buenos Aires that opens at 5:30 am. on Sunday mornings! 100 Arg pesos is a very fair price for a continental breakfast but what was offered by the hotel was simply not of enough appeal to us. We had a problem with lack of hot water for the shower and the maintenance worker was promptly sent up to address the matter. While we got a kick out of the "retro" look of our hotel, we encourage this hotel to continue with its renovations.

Unfortunately, Bauen Suites looks so worn you wonder when the bed spreads last got a thoroough cleaning. The central location is an asset and we did enjoy our good fortune of being in the middle of a street fair celebrating books and authors. We could walk to Teatre Colon, and several restaurants. Too bad the constant need to ask for enough towels or the right size sheets on the bed made such a poor impression.
