Riva Urban Loft

We stayed here 9 nights total. First night was before going to Iguazu falls and they kept our luggage for us. Great front desk help with Frank or Diego. Both speak fluent English. They booked a city tour for us and a tango show. The room is large with a microwave and hot pot. Small market right across the street. Easy walking distance to Puerto Madero where the expensive hotels are. No maid service but our bed was made up a couple times. You can request and pay a small fee to change towels. Only complaint is slow wifi. But that seems to be the case everywhere in SA.

Downtown condos a block off Av 9 de Julio (a main street). We stayed two separate times at the beginning and end of our time in Argentina. Rooms included everything we needed – fridge, micro, giant comfy bed and front desk people, (especially Diego!) who went out of their way to be helpful arranging airport taxis and advising us on sites to see. Room was cleaned daily. We like to walk and found that from this central location we could walk to Recoleta (neighborhood and cemetery (think Evita!)), to Puerto Madera, and to the train station for our trip to Tigre. The Metro stop is just two blocks away. It even had a small grocery right across the street! BA is a big city with narrow streets, dicey neighborhoods after dark (across the avenues, not where we were), and sometimes crumbling sidewalks, but Riva Urban Lofts quickly felt like home. Several nice restaurants within a block of Riva Urban Lofts, too. We liked Iberia (Hi Jorge!) and the Almaden Café.

The service was excellent, the front desk attendant and staff were very attentive to our needs and comfort. The bed was extremely comfortable and it was meticulously cleaned. The one thing we did not like is that there are no drawers for your clothes away so we did the best we could with the furniture in the room. I liked that it's a no smoking building although they do provide a space for smoks.
