A beautiful place with a beautiful panoramic view. The
views of the lake and the
Snow-covered mountains are spectacular. It has much to improve if you want to see it again. They have a way of handling customer treatment that leaves a lot to be desired. I don’t need to be told that if I smoke, I don’t return the towels to the spa, that I hand him a dollar bill and they look at me like I stole it on the street, it’s offensive, among other things, you’re going to penalize me. I saw the treatment of an older couple and then a group of tourists who surprised me. Used to travel, it is the
First time I've seen this deal. There are many reviews on TripAdvisor that seem to go unread by management. It's rare for me to make a negative comment, but there's no other comment.

During our trip to El Calafate, our original hotel was unable to accommodate a change in our itinerary. Our travel agent suggested two alternative options, one of which was Alto Calafate Hotel Patagonico. We weren’t sure what to expect. On the way to the hotel, our driver mentioned that it was the oldest hotel in El Calafate and that we would be well taken care of. We were curious but reserved judgment.
Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by Esteban Ruppel. The hotel, while older, was very clean and had a pleasant reception area. Esteban personally checked us in and even stepped away from the desk to give us a brief introduction to the hotel. Because we had booked last minute, we initially had two rooms with Queen beds each. I asked Esteban if it might be possible to change one of our rooms to have two twin beds, fully expecting a firm no—but instead, he did some checking and came to our door to let us know the change was accommodated.
From that moment on, our experience was wonderful. The hotel was always clean, and the staff consistently went above and beyond to help. Esteban Ruppel, Valentina Britez, Valentin Pecovich, Maura DiCola, and the many other friendly staff members made our stay truly memorable. The rooms and hotel were spotless, the hilltop location offered amazing views, and they provided convenient transportation to the city center each afternoon. Breakfast was excellent and a perfect start to each day.
Even though we had no idea what to expect from this last-minute change, we were pleasantly surprised. We are completely satisfied with our stay and highly recommend Alto Calafate Hotel Patagonico. Thank you, Esteban, Valentina, Valentin, and Maura—you made our stay unforgettable!

Not deserving hotel currently 4 stars.
Old-fashioned rooms, minimal toiletries and in containers filled with labels attached since the original packaging does not correspond with the product inside, bathroom with poor ventilation and solved with an air freshener spray, very old television, provide you with a single card of the room so that when you leave nothing plugged in.
Breakfast in the buffet there is not a single poster of the product name, no indication for intolerances, butter and jams not packaged and put in saucepans without knowing what variety corresponds, milk only whole, fruit all cut so that no one can take any, dishes all very small, juices unnatural, etc. In general fair quality products.
