El galpon del glaciar

A stopover to avoid on the road to Perito Moreno. The rowing doesn't look like plumage. Summary comfort and cuisine unrelated to what is expected of the country. We were served cordero with mostly bone and barely hot. A mistake on our Argentine journey.

This Argentine rural hotel is the perfect destination for those seeking an authentic and relaxing experience in Patagonia. Located on the banks of the Argentine Lake, with stunning views of the waters and mountains, the environment is welcoming and rustic, but with a subtle touch of sophistication that lifts everything to another level. The breakfast is delicious, with fresh and homemade products, and the restaurant offers an attractive menu for lunch and dinner, with dishes typical of the region (the Patagonian lamb is a must!). The rooms are cosy, clean and ideal for a deep rest after a busy day. The big difference is the activities offered: horseback rides, nature-guided walks, and a demonstrating of sheep crap, where we learn about animal care and the whole wool process — a true immersion in the life of the stay. There was a pathogenic dinner and a tango show on this tour. We like it! The staff is exceptional: extremely polite, attentive and helpful. They even prepared custom and delicious snacks for our tours! I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to escape the conventional and live Patagonia genuinely. I would come back without thinking twice! ⭐⭐⭐⭐

We had a wonderful experience at the ranch. The location and surrounding walks; the accommodation; the food were all excellent. The views from the dining room were special. The location allowed us to easily visit the Petito Moreno Glacier and only a twenty minute drive/taxi into El Calafate. We were treated to a gaucho and sheep dog display which was very enjoyable. The staff were all simply lovely with special thanks to manager Agustina and Angeles for making our stay so enjoyable. I'd also like to thank the beautiful Margarita who took my wife and I for a horse ride across the river and to the lake. It was a great two hours and her sense of humour was a treat! I would highly recommend El Galpon and only hope we will return one day to visit again. Thank you.
