Patagonia Rebelde is a hidden gem. It's as if you walk in a movie scene from the dusty and busy streets. The rooms are spacious, clean and so beautifully furnished. The main area is really cosy and looks like a saloon. Breakfast was good with fresh and local products. More extensive choice than Argentinian standards. They offer airport shuttle service if you book in advance. It's a 30 minute drive. 5 minute walk from the bus station. The walk was a little dark at night.

This was very near the bottom of our favourite hotels on our tour. The rooms are very small and everything (doors, floorboards, keys, beds) creaks. Downstairs is interesting and you are left feeling a bit disappointed that the bedrooms are not what they should be. Try and avoid the roadside rooms as they are even noisier.

This was my least favorite place that we stayed on our tour. The rooms were very small and felt like they needed some TLC. There is no TV. The old fashioned keys were difficult to use and had to be left at the front desk, which closes at midnight. The entire first floor is a sitting area and bar, but it looks like no one ever uses it. It is a 10-15 minute walk into town, so that was disappointing. The staff was great - friendly and accommodating. Overall, I would look for different accommodation in El Calafate.
