Review is Bistro only. Whether a lunch or a night out, the Astor offers moderately priced eats with a variety of choice. Atmosphere is cosy with an open fire, 60s to 70s theme/ décor with friendly / helpful staff especially 'Madie', who went out of the way to make us feel welcome and comfortable. Convenient stop for travellers being close to the main roads with ample parking inside the hotel grounds.

The bistro has gone downhill even further if that's possible. I had nachos with Mexican Beef made by someone who was waved at by a Mexican once. Miserable tasteless mince glued to nachos with industrial strength tasteless cheese. Seriously, when will this kitchen release something edible ?

We visit the Astor Bistro every year, sometimes twice a year when we come to Albury and each time the food seems to get worse. Sad to say it's gone downhill again. The T-bone steak was almost inedible and the pizza was a pre-made disc with edible things on top. No caesar salad any longer. Bad Astor, bad. It's such a handy and well set out location with good decor and amenities but if the food is no good, what's the point of it all ? We won't be back.
