We stayed at Raffertys Resort and couldn’t fault it at all. Comfortable, clean and lovely accommodation. Equipped with everything and more- a family would need for a week. The grounds and pool areas were well maintained and a pleasure to use. It was a real treat getting our coffee and cake delivered pool side. The staff were very helpful. Nothing was a problem. The Tavern has a spectacular view of Lake Macquarie and we enjoyed a cocktail watching the sunset over the water. The food was well priced and delicious. The only problem was our stay wasn’t long enough. 😉 Would definitely recommend.

The resort is well located and the gardens and pools are well maintained. HOWEVER the cottage we stayed in is in dire need of a deep clean and maintenance. The shower leaked after each shower and there was so much water on the floor we had to use a mop. Broken pavers and floorboards on the verandah. The air con vent was covered in dust and grime, caked on. Couldn’t be missed you walked past it in the entrance hall! Threadbare towels. Dust and insect dirt in the wardrobe. Dirty backs of doors. Missing and broken fly screens. Wifi would not connect. I didn’t bother contacting reception because we were extremely busy attending a wedding and other family events. When they emailed me the stock standard email asking for feedback the manager implied it was my fault as a paying customer for not contacting reception with the cleaning and maintenance issues. It is the manager’s responsibility to ensure the accomodation is clean and well maintained for paying guests. I asked for a partial refund and was given a long winded answer why this isn’t possible. I suggest skipping Raffertys Resort which would have been lovely in its hay-day and book somewhere clean and well maintained. Time to invest in some improvements Raffertys and stop blaming the guests for lack of deep cleaning and maintenance.

We found the ‘A-Team of Customer Service’ at Rafferty Resort’s Reception. Toni and Christine are true professionals and offer that old school customer service that is missing at most hotels these days. From our first email together, right through to departure we felt cared for. We had a TV issue upon check-in and Toni tirelessly worked hard until it was fixed. She just wanted us to enjoy our stay. These two should open a Customer Service School! Very impressed…
