We had been loving staying here over the last 3 yrs, however when we pulled in here yesterday I was devastated, they have massacred all the trees and garden! Instead of a Sanctuary and tree top resort it looked like a Cemetery of bulldozed trees and life. Upone asking why they had done it, we were told it was due to the Insurance company’s requirements! Horrified. If I had known they had done this we never would have stayed here again and with sorrow in my heart for the loss of such beauty, we never will again. No insurance is worth what has happened, there must have been a better way to handle this, trimming, removing a tree here and there, but every tree! The staff were lovely, however they didn’t seem to understand why we were so upset, it felt clear cut to them, the insurance company required it, it was done. Room: same as always, clean and fine. Noise: much loader road noise now as the trees are gone. Dinner: we ate in our room as I could not face sitting in the restaurant now all the trees where gone, was alright, salad fresh, veggies boiled, steak a bit tough.

Very disappointing, the place has gone down hill since our last visit. The restaurant is not open on Saturday night, very inconvenient when you are travelling, this critical information is well hidden, not what you expect in a resort, if you like eating avoid this place.

I booked this place on a long business trip for two nights largely on the strength of location and that it produced a cooked breakfast. Turning up for breakfast, though, I was told it wasn’t available - staffing issues. I wasn’t happy about that BUT I was even more unhappy with the attitude of the owner who basically made me feel it was all my fault! My advice: if you advertise a ‘hot breakfast’ but you don’t provide it - don’t advertise it! Drive past.
