Stamford Plaza Double Bay

The Le Petit Chef experience at the InterContinental Sydney was, without a doubt, the worst meal I’ve had in recent memory. While the novelty of the animated projection mapping is fine, cute visual gimmicks cannot compensate for abysmal culinary quality. ​The meal failed across every single course: ​Starter: A basic, uninspired salad featuring floury tomatoes tossed in a cheap rainbow dressing. ​Pasta: Four-cheese truffle ravioli that clearly wasn't handmade—it tasted worse than pre-packaged, store-bought pasta. ​Main: A disappointing steak served with harsh, pickled carrots, a poor Béarnaise sauce, and chips so excessively greasy and over-fried that they made me ill. ​Dessert: Completely bland and generic, resembling low-tier, mass-produced pastries rather than hotel-quality fare. ​The service was equally atrocious. However, the biggest insult came with the bill: $479 for two adults and an eight-year-old child, without a single drop of alcohol. ​Charging fine-dining prices for food that falls short of basic pub quality is an absolute con. I would have thoroughly enjoyed the concept had the kitchen matched the entertainment, but this was a total failure. The InterContinental should be ashamed to put its name on an event this bad. I will be actively pursuing a full refund.

Me and my friend had a beautiful stay at Intercon Double Bay. Room maybe a little bit dated but the view from our bayside room was stunning. Staff very friendly, especially Nisa in the restaurant who took extremely good care of us and made sure that we had a memorable evening. The prawn pasta was to die for!

Check in was helpful, breakfast is a great spread, location is on point. However, service standards, quality of amenities/ finishing and hygiene of room are absolutely appalling. Pool is not worth the time. In rooms: Thick layers of dust, hand prints on balcony doors, terrible room makeup, malfunctioning lamp and air con, unresponsive Concierge. Complaining about specific issues also yield no improvement. Not a five star experience at all in my 4 nights here.
