Sydney Boulevard

I had a wonderful stay at The Sydney Boulevard Hotel. After a long flight from Jakarta, arriving early in the morning was exhausting, but the front desk team made a fantastic first impression by accommodating an early check-in at 8:00 AM. Being able to take a quick nap right away was a lifesaver.  When I woke up around noon, I noticed that the initial room was near the service area and had some background noise. I requested a room change, and Front Office Manager Jatin Shankar handled the situation with absolute professionalism. He kindly suggested that we leave our luggage in the room and enjoy exploring the city while he arranged a new room for us. The hotel’s location is excellent for exploring Sydney, making it very convenient to walk around and discover the area.  When we returned in the afternoon, Jatin Shankar had transferred us to an exceptionally quiet and comfortable room. As an ALL Platinum member, I was thoroughly impressed with the seamless recognition of my benefits, including a room upgrade, delicious complimentary breakfast, and late check-out. To top off their exceptional hospitality, my wife accidentally broke a glass in the room. When I reported it during check-out, Jatin Shankar graciously assured us that it was no problem at all and waived any charges.  Special thanks to Jatin Shankar for going above and beyond to ensure our stay was pleasant and memorable. His outstanding customer service truly elevated our experience. Highly recommended, and we will definitely stay here again when back in Sydney!

Room was nice and spacious. Comfortable bed and ample pillows and blankets. Temperature in the room was just perfect, not too cold, not too warm either. Lots of room to hang and store clothes and was able to ask for another luggage rack which I got the next morning. Safe works fine. The ladies who take care of the breakfast in the morning are super helpful and cheerful and the assistance provided was always quick. I asked for my bacon to be cooked a little crispier and I got a whole new crispy serving, perfectly done, before I could say, "Please!" The only thing was that on our first day in the hotel, we hung the "Please make up the room" sign but when we got back after a very long day out, the room had not been made up. Front Desk apologized appropriately, but that left a bit of a concern for us to make sure that we asked the front desk for the room to be made up everyday--isn't that a standard? But overall, aside from this small concern, everything else was great! We plan to stay there again when we return to Sydney.

I last stayed here nearly 40 years ago when it was certainly popular. How times have changed. This was a last-minute booking in a harbour view room. Pros The upgrade to the Bayview Suite (2313) was great and the view, even on a wet Sunday afternoon/evening was stunning. Room was clean and spacious. Welcome amenities were in-room on arrival which is always welcomed. Breakfast was good quality with lots of choices and staff friendly. Cons The high bath/spa combination was a challenge for someone with knee issues and I was amazed that single-use products were still being provided. 'Satellite TV' it wasn't - just free-to-air. Whilst this may be technical in that broadcasts nowdays could be via satellite I was expecting something like Foxtel, etc. Being a Sunday there was nowhere to get anything to eat or drink (the Vard is not open on Sunday but that is not stated on the Accor website. So no luck in redeeming my free drink. As for room service, hmmm, the choice of three mains and a tray charge of $8. When I walked out of the room for breakfast the next morning, the tray was still outside my room. Unfortunately this hotel appears to be living on its history and memories. I can't recommend it unless you need to be close to this part of the city and don't need to eat dinner.
