We chose this motel because it was close to the marina. The motel furnishings are very basic and the room very small. The breakfast box was adequate. Glad we did not take our car. The carpark was very tight and looked difficult to manoeuvre. We had a room at the back which reduced the traffic noise from the busy highway this motel sits on.

Yes highly convenient location to specialist for Monday as annual January track works making it harder to get to and from via train etc. Very basic rooms, bathroom inconvenient layout.

Edgecliff Lodge Motel Sydney... definitely PUT ME OVER THE EDGE. If you want a headache, this place will give you plenty of reasons to have one. The main pros for this hotel "when booking" were (free parking, free continental breakfast, close location to Sydney, smoke free and affordable) - however. (will put a quick summary then a bigger explanation below it.) CONS: - not smoke free, parking is... in a polite way a joke, MOULDY rooms everywhere, breakfast is a child size, 1 size fits all shoebox prepackaged and left in the room. Get given key to room and not told what floor its on, so you have to go searching yourself. Dont touch anything and ... dont breathe. Basically. PROS: - Affordable, close to Sydney, comfy enough beds, rooms a decent size, check in very close to carpark, they have an elevator... if you feel the risk to use if you dont have allergies. Was quiet apart from some highway traffic. Some rooms have newer aircons that work well. Guy at desk friendly. You do get given some free food, although its a snack, not a meal as specified. Explantion: - This "smoke free" hotel, was not, all the rooms on the balcony side every floor, all reek of smoke, and the bathroom windows are all kept open for "ventilation" but are letting all the smoke through from out the balcony way outside, the elevator reeks of cigarette smoke too, could barely breathe all night for the 1 night stay. The whole hotel reeks of it, I cant for the God of me figure out where its all coming from but is bad. (I can't testify to the rooms not near the balconies, they may have fresher air access through maybe the highway or elsewhere, or they may have none and have no bathroom windows, the 2 rooms I had, were both different balcony rooms (the balcony is in the middle of accom, looks like an alleyway type situation, and as I said, I'm not sure where the smoke is coming from, and I dont know how there isn't any fresh air near the balconies... but unfortunately that's the case) - Rooms are all mouldy. We got moved from a mouldy bathroom and lounge/bed area room, to a just mouldy bathroom room... but hey, the toilets have a "hygienically cleaned" sash on them so 🤷‍♀️👀 - The 2 zone parking had about 10 spaces available in the 1.8mtr to which in a small suv u may just fit, with a struggle, but the 1.7mtr... wouldnt risk, unless you have a small hatchback, also very difficult to park in the spots, we had to nose in and out a lot just to get in, and the only entry/exit is 1 way onto the highway, where in our case, we need to reverse onto as you cannot turn around in carpark, let alone move. - Breakfast... unless you like a tiny amount of milk and cereal, peaches in juice and a tiny juice box and sultana mini bar... just eat elsewhere. It's definitely edible, and was in date which was a plus, but thats about it. The pros of the hotel do not outway the cons, it's a disappointing outcome, would have loved to have more positives to say. **Would hope this hotel really considers the reviews and makes some huge changes, at least with the hygiene of the hotel, and being a bit more forthright about the breakfast, parking and "non smoke free" specifics.**
