Mercure Resort Gerringong by the Sea

Avoid that’s the best advice. Stayed for 2 nights, from the check-in if I hadn’t pre paid would have turned around and left. The lady who checked me in really needs serious training in customer service. We booked this hotel as it had a restaurant, but was told it doesn’t open on Sundays and Mondays, also room service is not available either on those days. Housekeeping was hit and miss ,towels changed just thrown on the spare bed, not folded. Checkout just said Thankyou never asked how things were so just left the keys and left.

The hotel offered a pleasant and relaxing stay. Although it is located slightly out of town, it was still an easy walk to the beach and the bowling club, making it convenient without being right in the middle of the busy area. The grounds were lovely and surprisingly quiet considering the property is located on a main road. Our room was clean, spacious and included a balcony, which was a nice addition. A screen on the balcony door would have made it even better, particularly for enjoying the fresh air. The room had basic facilities including a microwave, coffee cups and wine glasses, although crockery and cutlery were not provided. The air conditioning was louder than usual and did not seem particularly effective, which was a little disappointing. Overall though, it was a comfortable stay and somewhere we would happily return to.

We had a lovely overnight stay at this hotel. Our room was large and quiet, away from the carpark. The hotel is away from town but we enjoyed the surrounding gardens. There is a restaurant on site but we didn't visit. The reception staff member was friendly, beds were comfortable and the kitchenette was helpful. The cooking stove was turned off due to amended fire standards but not really required for short stays. Not sure if the hotel will be suitable for those with mobility issues if staying on higher floors but otherwise, we had a great stay.
