Harrington River Lodge

The hotel is nicely positioned. We have a view of the golf course as it was very full that night. The room was in a bit of disrepair.... the towel rail was hanging by one side, the light over the tea making was not working, the balcony needed a good scrub... The room (no 7) was just off reception and we could hear lots of conversation from those waiting to be served. A nice short walk to the tavern where we had a table by the window and enjoyed the view. The meal was not as good as we have had previously, and our dinner booking had not been recorded. Thankfully we could be seated. Wait staff were very pleasant.

Our 2nd stay at the Harrington River Lodge and how fantastic. Sensational location on the river, next to the golf course and a couple of minutes drive to the shops. Large comfortable rooms, most looking onto the river. Have the pub onsite for meals, swimming pool and play area for kids. Most importantly Jess was a fantastic and hospitable host and rest of the staff also helpful and friendly. A great 3 night stay.

So we stayed at the River Lodge this week, and it is our second visit to this fantastic place. This time we were offered a three night package which was at a very good price so we jumped at it again.. because we enjoyed the first time very much. Luckily we got an upstairs room with a balcony that looked over that beautiful river. The rooms are super super spacious, so clean and have absolutely everything in it that you would need.. It’s just like staying in a five star hotel.. Apparently, the Lodge and the hotel next door were recently taken over, and the manager told me they are slowly but surely improving things and Redecorating a little bit. We noticed that the wooden outside furniture had been sanded back and repainted so they were very nice. I believe the rooms are to be painted but they look fine to me. Perhaps it’s already been done.. The position of the lodge is really good ,in that it is on the grand Riverwalk ,and one street along is the shopping centre which is small but comprehensive! And a short drive too many other beaches and down to the local beach. . The lodge .. has a fantastic pool.. and the grounds are phenomenal. Just beautifully maintained. The staff and the management are extremely friendly and I look forward to visiting again…
