Katoomba Mountain Lodge

Katoomba Mountain Lodge is in a great location for exploring the surrounding area and Blue Mountains. The lodge has an older decor but I quite liked it. The room had enough space for me as a solo guest and I was able to store my clothing in the cabinet. I appreciated having my own sink as well. The kitchen space could get a bit cramped when multiple people needed to use it the same time. However, the dining area was ample with plenty of room.

I've been staying at Katoomba Mountain Lodge regularly for the past six years, and it has become my go to place whenever I'm hiking in the Blue Mountains. What keeps me coming back is how safe and comfortable I always feel. It has a welcoming atmosphere that, for me, marks the end of a long day on the trails. It's the place where you can finally take your boots off, have a hot shower, cook a meal, and rest before your next adventure. The location is fantastic, with easy access to many of the Blue Mountains' best walks. The lodge is also kept reasonably clean, especially considering it's a well-loved, older building with plenty of guests coming and going. The lodge has several bathrooms, so even if one or two showers are occasionally out of order, I've never had to wait. The common areas are spacious, the kitchen is well equipped with everything I need to prepare a meal, and the dining room has a charm of its own. After a long day of hiking, I sleep like a baby here. As you'd expect from a charming old building, you do occasionally hear the squeaky floorboards, but they've never disturbed my sleep. It isn't a luxury hotel, and that's why I stay here. It has character, a relaxed atmosphere, and over the years it has become part of my Blue Mountains hiking tradition. I look forward to coming back every time.

loved it! Cozy and very good location
