this hotel is superb and allowing pets in the middle of the CBD at as a 5 star hotel, is just perfect. The happy hour $2 oysters were as fresh as the Sydney Fish market and the Mocktails on the lounge,s overlooking the pier in the afternoon sun was sublime. The room caters fully for the pooch and him sleeping on the bed is perfect .The Pier 1 Breakfast was comparable to the Rick Stein Bannister's by the Sea in every regard. The produce was so fresh and the chefs presentation and quality was paralleled with Industry best. The Maitre D was knowledgeable and all the Staff pet friendly with the pooch in the special pet/human breakfast area. As we are elderly the concierge and staff parked the car and went and got the stuff i forgot without any Fuss. This was our second stay and we were treated better at the Pier than any US and Australia Hilton hotel even with my my Diamond membership. Go there stay with the pooch and bedazzled.

A nice quirky piece of history turned in to a lovely place to stay. The staff and area is quite chill compared to the opposite end of the harbour with The W and the Marriott Circular quay that's in need of some facelifts... The rooms were nice, but the only thing I would say is that business travellers need a better desk to sit at to work of an evening.

There is always a lot of talk about the Park Hyatt Sydney and how well located that is online, but I would argue this might be even better. Located right underneath the harbour bridge, Pier One is a superbly priced hotel, in a great part of Sydney for sightseeing and with a lot of character that gives this hotel a great sense of place in the waterfront.
In addition to this, some staff deserve a special mention for making this stay memorable. Firstly, the staff working check in were brilliant, very warm and engaging and helping us settle into the hotel and explaining how everything worked. Secondly, I would like to personally thank Finn, the guest experience manager. Her warmth and friendliness throughout made us feel very welcomed. She showed genuine interest in us as guests, gave great recommendations (Blackwood for brunch is a must) and would check in to see how things were going. it was genuinely a joy to interact with her and the staff mentioned above alone would be a good enough reason for us to return to this hotel.
We also had breakfast included as part of our status, and whilst not the biggest spread, the breakfast itself was delicious, with everything cooked superbly and tasting great. We did also try dinner here, and unfortunately it did not quite hit the same heights, but it may have been a case of ordering the wrong thing. We also had a drink at the bar for sunset. The service here wasn't the best, with slow service and forgotten orders, but the bar was quite busy at the time.
The room itself was lovely, with a view out over the waterfront facing sunset along with a very comfortable bed and well appointed bathroom too. The room was kept very clean throughout our stay, and whilst modern, had some great period features such as the original wooden beams from before the building became a hotel.
I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone.
