Airport Sydney International I

First an foremost the Hotel is located right next to the Sydney International Airport so unless you want to pay an arm and a leg to stay even closer this is quite reasonably priced. on arrival the receptionist was very polite and lovely making us feel appreciated and welcome. walking to room the entrance and hallway had this weird chemical type smell mixed with i have no idea...into the room it was ok...small but clean...i almost couldn't get into the shower as it is likely the smallest i honestly have ever seen, however the water was hot and flowing so very pleasant...the bathroom could use an extraction fan though...needed a knife to carve through the steam. the bed was a little soft for my liking but hey, both my wife and i slept well so that is all that matters...all in all a good nights sleep. now, breakfast. Continental is free with stay and $15 for small but what seemed ok buffet. sadly this area is the Hotels let down, not so much for what is on offer (which is reasonable for the price) but the staff. One guy standing rubbing his eyes looking like he had just got up (this is almost 7am when they open at 4:30am closing at 10am) the cutlery had only one knife to share with wife and no teaspoons. He could see i was looking (and others) but just stood there. Wife used a dessert spoon to stir her tea. The Chef came out of the kitchen laughing with the guy standing there having a good chitty chat and then went back into the kitchen cranking the music up to a deafening pitch! sorry, the experience was enough for me when i went to let the guy at reception know...he didn't seem to care. however on checkout a short time later the same receptionist was back and she was again awesome. i didn't share my experience with her, however that is why i gave "average" score, the restaurant was the failure. Honestly, other guests were talking amongst themselves how bad it was. My opinion is simple, if you want a nice cheapish Hotel close to the International Airport, you most definitely should try this one, however i strongly suggest to stay away from the breakfast buffet.

I wanted a hotel by the Sydney Airport. I thought 4/5 was a good enough rating to stay one night before flying out. I was so wrong. We checked in and headed to our room. Such a sterile hallway that seemed almost like a jail. Worse, the hallway reeked of Marijuana. Room smelled overly perfumed and I thought….well at least it’s clean and this perfume is the cleaning product. But the carpet which was a weird memory foam looked like it had never been cleaned. The space of the room wasn’t terrible. It was the carpet and the bathroom that led us to feeling like we didn’t want to walk with bare feet. The toilet dripped all night. We were lucky our daughter out on her rain noise machine because it drowned it out. The real horror show was the shower. The shower curtain was black and when my daughter got in to take a shower before bed it was crusty and stuck in clumps to the shower. When she pulled to close it thinking it was just magnetized to the tub, it stuck. There were chunks on the shower curtain and white stains. Beyond disgusting. When I showered the next morning thank goodness it was a rain shower head because I didn’t close the shower curtain. Honestly, such a sad icky ending to an amazing trip.
