The proximity to the airport makes the hotel attractive. The rooms are spacious and well-equipped by the standards of this hotel category. The staff was nice and helpful. There was only one restaurant, but the food there was okay. The breakfast was great with a generous selection. There are various restaurants around the hotel. Unfortunately, the transfer didn't work out here either, and we had to wait 40 minutes. On the way back, we were at the airport in a few minutes by train.

As a surprise my partner booked a room at the Crowne. We arrived early from an overnight flight and got an early checkin for a fee. Reception staff were efficient and nicely dressed. When we stepped out of the elevator on the 2nd floor we were underwhelmed. The doors were all scratched and worn, the carpet needing a good vacuum. Our room was spacious, the bathroom clean, the bed lovely and soft. But it just seemed to lack...appeal. I think we were expecting something a bit fancier, especially as we'd paid more than we normally would and with it being a Crowne. We laid down to have a rest and I heard kids singing. I thought it was on the street below but it was in the room next door. We often heard people talking and the elevator pinging. But it didn't disturb us duly and we had a good sleep. Breakfast buffet was small but adequate. Went at 9am and had a little wait for a table. They had an egg station where you could order an omelette. They also have coffees you can buy.

We had a one night stay here after a 24 hour flight. Check in staff were very nice. There was a bit of to and fro when we arrived as apparently the room we had booked (two Queens) wasn’t available and they suggested an “upgrade” to a King bed plus sofa bed. We replied that getting one bed when you booked two was definitely not an upgrade, and that a sofa bed was uncomfy and not suitable for a tall teen. Eventually we got our 2 x Queen room so not sure why they didn’t just give it to us right away (we had also prepaid). Anyway, the woman was very pleasant and understood our perspective so all was well. We slept well, although room was a tad warm. Breakfast offering was good but almost all the tables were dirty/uncleared when we went down around 6.30am which was offputting. And only one coffee machine which means long waits, which isn’t ideal for tired travellers who are in a rush. The shuttle is also weird. They booked ours for an hour after landing and we were ready well before that so just got a taxi, which was cheaper. It’s like they don’t want guests to actually use it.
