This is a first for me having completed many TA reviews over a number of years … I am actually doing a review whilst still at the hotel. It is such a poor accommodation experience, I felt compelled to write the review so as I may help other people to consider other options and avoid this place ! Unfortunately, given its location adjacent to International, it has an almost forced captive market as there are no other options in such close proximity to international departures ! The only reason we are here is for an International connection as there was not a comparable flight from Melbourne ! Trip Adviser is certainly off the mark when in the general ‘ About ‘ comments it states that this hotel takes the experience to another level …. what a shocking misnomer and so so far from the actual experience customers feel. The ‘many ‘ very bad reviews speaks to how bad this hotel is ! What you have on offer is outrageously priced bar drinks and $35 in room for a half bottle of Church Block Shiraz almost borders on theft !! $14 for two $2 chocolate bars etc etc ! Our stay started with the three thoroughly disinterested Asian staff members at reception who collectively were totally devoid of personality as was the young man working in the bar ! Could never recommend this place, just an awful hotel !!!

If we had to stay again due to flight times etc (hopefully not!) we’d not bother spending money on the ‘new’ executive king rooms. They may be redecorated and therefore fresh, but they are seriously pokey!!! The little ‘sitting nook’ in the corner is claustrophobic and made worse by the small round table having a pile of books and a piece of silly wooden artwork taking up the tabletop space. We can’t see the value in spending more just for ‘attractive decor’ over just getting a standard room, if it’s going to be that squeezy. And it was also noisy!!! Looking out to a driveway area with vehicles zooming by…of course that’s expected at an airport, BUT you also therefore expect good soundproofing!!
