Staff were extremely helpful & most friendly service received in a while! Rooms bit tired & could use upgrade. Bed was comfortable. New reception area is lovely .Great location

I booked this accommodation based on price, and the images portrayed on their website and various booking platforms. I'll start with the staff. they were friendly and helpful. The rooms were quiet, and However, there a lot of issues that the owners of the business need to rectify. 1. the difficulty to check in. Arriving after the close of reception on a Friday night, I was told I would receive a code to get into my room on the day. When it wasn't received, I called and was told I would be given it on arrival. On arrival I called again, and was given a code, but not very good directions to the room. 2. the room was very basic, and the photos of the room made it look luxurious. Unfortunately the rooms were dated, minimal power points (had to boil the kettle in the bathroom). The bathrooms need a full upgrade, the taps leaked (including flooding the vanity and everything on there). The rooms are very large, and have a lot of wasted space. The bed was however very comfy, as was the sofa bed in the room. The TV was old and the remote didn't work well, could only get Ch9 (NBN/WIN). The air conditioner remote didn't work, and the system itself was about 40yrs old. The door to outside at the back didn't close properly, and allowed air to come in. If you want your room made up daily, you need to ask, so don't expect a refresh of cups, tea, coffee etc. Unfortunately, this accommodation is more of a cheap motel, than a 'hotel' in the Hunter Valley. For the price we paid, we expected more. The property could be so much more.
