Queensgate Motel

The motel is in a great location. 5 minutes walk from Queanbeyan cbd. Maccas and KFC are only 2 doors down. Modern rsl and shopping centre are just 2 mins by car. As for the motel it had good parking and a clean pool. Our room had. Nice cupboards with extra linen and a new iron. Kitchenette was lacking a sink but had a good jug, toaster, bar fridge and microwave. Two queen beds were hard as a rock. We used the bed spread as a pillow top. And of the six pillows available in the room they were all hard. Not light and fluffy. The bathroom was quite small which was ok. But you couldn't swing a cat in that tiny shower. Very annoying. Although the water pressure and temperature was good. The drains needed flushing each morning because they would stink. The two things I look for in a good motel after a long day away from home, are a comfortable bed and a great shower. This motel failed miserably on both accounts. Of the four nights we stayed at $165 per night. The room was only serviced once. My final impressions were that I've stayed in many other budget motels which were so much nicer.

Overall, needs a good clean up. Blood stain on the quilt. Expired "sukin" brand toiletries over a year ago. Kettle needed replacing. However the BBQ was clean and the noisy drunks were quickly asked to move along at 1am. Easy to book at short notice ,courteous staff.

This was a comfortable room, with everything needed for a short stay. At the budget end of the price scale, so don't expect a premium room, but the bed was comfortable, the room was clean and the staff friendly. Yes there is abit of highway noise, but would you not expect this in a motel located on a main thoroughfare?
