The room has everything one needs and the views were great. The only thing I would say is that it's more like a 3 star motel than a 4 star boutique hotel. The restaurant a few metres away has great food and the location is quite central to Hunter Valley activities.

I am writing to formally express my profound disappointment following a stay at your establishment. My partner and I are frequent visitors to the Hunter Valley, and we were looking forward to experiencing the Tuscany Estate, having checked in after attending the Oakvale Crush Party Long Lunch. Unfortunately, a series of significant service failures marred our visit from the outset.
Our stay was in Room #204. Shortly after arriving, we attempted to make a simple coffee using the complimentary items provided. To our disgust, the milk capsules stored in the fridge were spoiled. I had already consumed some of the coffee before my partner noticed the state of the milk, and I felt ill afterward as a result. This is an unacceptable and basic failure of housekeeping and quality control. Compounding the initial frustration, we could find no information within the room, nor any clear signage on the grounds, directing us to the swimming pool. We had to actively seek out staff for what should be readily available information for guests.
Hoping to salvage the evening, we proceeded to our 6:30 PM dinner reservation on Saturday, 21st February, at your on-site restaurant, The Mill. We had heard positive reports and were anticipating a fine dining experience. The reality was catastrophically different.
After placing our order for both wine and food, we waited 45 minutes without receiving our wine. We had to flag down our waitress, who seemed flustered, to inquire about the delay. She then disappeared, only to return and inform us that our chosen wine was out of stock. By this point, nearly an hour had passed since we were seated.
We accepted her recommendation for a replacement bottle. When it arrived, the waitress simply plonked the bottle on our table and walked away, leaving us to pour our own initial tasting and first glass. In a restaurant of The Mill's supposed calibre, this lack of fundamental service is unheard of.
The wait for our food was even more egregious. At 7:55 PM, after another inquiry, our meals were finally brought out. In a bizarre and unprofessional display, our **entrées and main courses were delivered to the table at the same time**. I have never witnessed such a failure in the basic sequencing of a meal service. Furthermore, my steak, which I ordered rare, arrived cooked to medium—a clear sign it had likely been left sitting under a heat lamp for a considerable period.
Given the litany of errors, we abandoned any thought of ordering dessert and chose to settle the bill. The waitress offered a cursory apology for the "disrupted service," but it was far too little, far too late.
Considering the multitude of failures—from basic health and safety with the spoiled milk to the complete collapse of service standards at your restaurant—we believe compensation was warranted. The experience fell drastically short of what is acceptable for an establishment of your reputation. We would be open to discussing a credit for the accommodation or the deeply unsatisfactory restaurant meal.
The company contacted back via email & said, they’ll refund me - The refund or credit never was issued !
