BEST WESTERN Blue Diamond Motor Inn

Staff very rude , husband does not talk much English, just gave me a card to call his wife , room was good , clean , very hard bed 😮, bathroom new refurbished, our problem was we booked a ground floor unit as described on booking . Com , I had to ring them they were very helpful but also got no answers when they called the motel. They blamed booking . Com ( which is wrong as they are just advertising what the motel says in description. ) on ringing motel during the week on return to ask them to correct it , woman hung up on me ! The reason we wanted a ground floor is both my husband and I have health issues, thanks blue diamond for starting our weekend badly , beware on booking this motel if you want a ground floor unit don’t do what I did and presume because it says in the description it is .

My first impression was marred by the fact that the reception room smelt like an Indian restaurant. I love a good curry but I don’t expect, or enjoy an overwhelming smell when I go to book in to a motel. The lady at the reception was efficient but not friendly and I didn’t feel welcome straight off the bat. The room was neat and clean. All appliances worked. The location was good as it is only a few minutes walk to restaurants, pubs, shops, etc. However, the kicker came at 9:20am when a staff member vigorously knocked on our door until my wife answered. We thought there must be a fire or something similar, but no, he said that he just wanted to make sure we were awake so that we would be out by 10am. Never in my 68 years on this earth have I ever had this happen. We stayed on a Friday night and did notice that there were no cars parked in the carpark, which is strange for a motor inn. We noticed this each time we left the room. This would indicate that we were the only guests. I can understand why now.

Very happy with this motel including check in with nice young man running the hotel . A pool swim was really enjoyed on a hot afternoon after check in Very nice ground floor spacious and light room with king bed . Could not fault this hotel . Easy walk to Main Street and RSL for dinner . One of the better experiences while on a long road trip.
