Sails In The Desert

Before our trip we decided this was the best hotel for us. The main block and gardens are impressive as is the pool and attractive pool bar. We dined twice in the Ilkari restaurant. The meal was a buffet and the food and choice excellent. The staff were helpful and pleasant. We were, however, disappointed with our accommodation. The room was spacious and comfortable but we were allocated a disabled persons' room, which we did not want nor need. It was at ground level with a small patio open to a public footpath and the outdoor furniture was old and damaged. Our accessible bathroom had marked plastic curtains around a shower area. Only the waterfall shower head worked and the handset was missing a lever. The drains also smelled fusty. It was certainly not what we expected from the online photographs. When we asked for a change we were told it was not possible due to full capacity and we were offered a free breakfast, which we could not take as we were on excursions. If you are booking here specify an upstairs room.

This was a lovely hotel. I booked it as a bit of a treat on our month long trip and it didn’t disappoint. Everything was perfect. Room large enough for a family of 4, really clean, comfy beds. Staff super friendly and lots of info to guide you around the resort. Trips well advertised and organised. It was the most expensive place in Ulhuru but we felt worth the money. We all wanted to stay longer.

A wonderful hotel. Stayed in a king superior on ground floor. Large room with lounge, king bed and table. Bathroom really nice. Hotel staff are all great, restaurants are also great. The buffet was good. A bit expensive for wine/ cocktails but that is to be expected. Would definitely recommend staying here for a trip to Uluru.
