Unfortunately this visit did not live up to our expectations. The garden villa we stayed in, number 12 was in very poor condition. The room was shabby, in desperate need of a refurbishment. The fridge door scrapes on the floor. The units and furniture are in poor condition. The WiFi does not work. The guest WiFi connection dropped in and out and not once was I able to put in the code. Reception was closed at 5pm so couldn't ask about it. There is an out of hours number but you are warned if it's non urgent you will be charged a fee. There is a pool but if you want to use a beach towel there is an extra charge of $5 per towel. Never been charged for beach towels before. Also there were school swimming lessons going on until 2.30pm so the pool is not available to guests during that time. We arrived at 2pm so didn't affect us. The restaurant and bar were closed for refurbishment and there was no warning of that when booking. There is no drinking water in the fridge. Only water available is from the bathroom sink tap. We had driven 4.5 hours and wanted a cold drink. Nowhere in the resort could we get a cold glass of water. We had to walk 10 minutes to the closest bar to get a drink. Not far, but in 35°C heat it was not a pleasant stroll. We've been traveling a month now across Australia and this is the first place we've come across without water in the fridge. That is very poor! The air conditioning was poor. It really struggled to keep the room cool. I would not recommend staying in the garden villas. There was no garden to look out at. On the plus side there were plenty of plug sockets and the parking is secure.

Our third hotel of the trip, we had picked this due to the location being almost on the beach and the fact it advertised having 2 swimming pools. On checking in we asked about the pools and were told one was solely for the use of the beach villas, the other for all other guests, however today of all days it was hired out to the local school for swimming lessons. A bit naughty considering we are paying guests and cannot use either pool. We booked a 1 bed ground floor garden apartment which didn’t disappoint, it was clean, tidy and had every thing you would need for a short stay. The bed was very comfortable with plenty of space to spread suit cases out. There was a good open style shower with the usual toiletries. The kitchenette was also well equipped. On site is a small bar and restaurant, but has limited opening days and hours, something you need to check if booking. The Agnes Water Tavern is a 15 minute uphill walk, with a full food menu from 5-00pm. Not sure i would recommend the hotel simply on the basis of not having access to the swimming pools.

I booked a room for our wedding anniversary, so paid about $200,00 a night. I lugged our bags up 3 flights of stairs and then found the room. It was a large vacant unattractive space. It has minimal furniture and looked old, a coat of paint would do it good. The bathrooms are small and poker and the shower had sand left in it from the previous occupants. We won't be back and my advise would be to save your money and go elsewhere.
