City Park Apartments

Spend 5 nights here with 2 kids. We got a two bedroom apartment facing the park. It is a busy road, plus there is a motorway and a train track less than 500 m away. So not the quietest place if you are sensitive to noise it’s an issue. Our apartment was clean(ish), spacious and in general ok, a bit dated though. Checking in was ok, but it took us some time to find the mailbox. Our neighbours were very noisy on the first two nights but as people pointed out there is nobody to talk to. Would I stay here again? Not sure to be honest.

Travelled with my family (including our 4 month old infant) and booked a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment for our stay. Due to having an infant we needed accommodation that was self contained and also with car parking so initially the apartments looked good. Arrived late Friday night (approx 11pm) and the parking was not great. lots of the spaces are designed to be 2x cars deep and I didn't want to block anyone else's car in so parked out on the street for the night. Retrieved the keys from the box with the code they had previously provided and was surprised to find 2x keys in there but figured it must be perhaps an apartment with an interconnecting door. However this was not the case - they had given us 2 separate 1 bedroom apartments that were not even next door to each other. This was despite us booking a 2 bedroom apartment and having no correspondence from City Park that there would be a change to this booking. As it was late we decided to sleep separately for the night and sort it out the next day. One of the apartments was actually quite nice and more modern the other was more tired looking and no where near comparable. Both apartments were in need of a good clean. I pulled one of the sliding doors out to shut it and it was caked in dust and grime, the dryers were full of lint, the aircon in one of the apartments continuously tripped the circuit breaker so could not be used. The next day (saturday) I went to the reception office but there was a sign on the door that said the office was only manned 10am to 1pm Monday to Friday but there was an after hours number listed for emergencies. I called this number all weekend and left messages only to not have my calls answered and to have my messages ignored. Which makes me wonder what would have happened if there was a serious emergency as the owners are obviously not interested in customer service once they have your money. This was incredibly disappointing for us as it meant I was separated from my family for our short holiday. The point of booking a family holiday is to get to spend it together. On Monday morning I waited until 1030am to try and speak with someone (as the sign on the door advertised that the office would be manned from 10am) however no one arrived and I could not wait any longer. Since then I have continued to call the hotel and also have emailed to try and come to a resolution for this matter and all matters of contact are ignored. Absolutely disgusting customer service. Other issues were that the washing machines and dryers were only to be used between 7am to 7pm (due to noise issues) and two of the three nights we stayed the apartment next to mine used the dryers after 11pm however again there is no one on site deal with these problems. The apartments also have no sound proofing so you can hear absolutely everything happening.

The City Park apartments have free parking The room was amazing, clean, spacious King bed in bedroom Our balcony had good views of the city,Value for money Good location just 15 minutes walk to Brisbane CBD, close to Victoria park and Roma Street Park Reception times aren't very convenient for check in
