This hotel is really tired. If you are after a 4 star hotel in an excellent location than it is good, but it does not meet Sofitel standards. The good: staff, location and room size. The terrible - pool area - needs a complete refurb. How about some plants, fix and clean the tiles - it all looks so drab and dirty. Then the rooms - size is good, but they are dated. Bathrooms are old - clearly they were touched up at some point but still look like they are 20 years old. Then we have the TV - a roadside motel has a better TV experience than this hotel. Given it rained every day when we there, we spent more time in our room than normal. You can only watch their preset channels which include Racing, sport. news and some lifestyle channels. The limited channels with other content are showing content from 30 years ago and CNN and ESPN didn't even work. I was there with my teens and we wanted to stream a movie but you cannot! I have stayed at lots of Sofitel's over the years and this hotel does not meet the standard. Either spend money on it or change brands to something more appropriate. So disappointing.
