BEST WESTERN PLUS CAIRNS CENTRAL APARTMENTS

Not sure why all the reviews say what they do, we had a really pleasant stay. Our apartment was clean and had everything we needed for our stay. The cleaner was super lovely, and all our interactions with reception were easy and fast. We would definitely stay again, great location.

I recently stayed at Cairns Central Plaza Apartment Hotel and unfortunately had a very unpleasant experience at check-in. Booked 2 same size apartments had to argue with the manager that apparently only one room was booked... After ringing my mother who booked the rooms he found the other booking. I provided my photo ID as the booking adult, as required. However, the manager then insisted that my underage children either provide ID or that I pay a $150 deposit. My children are minors staying with me, and I was not given a clear explanation as to why their identification was necessary. The situation escalated into an argument at reception, which was uncomfortable and unnecessary. I understand security deposits are common practice, but the way this was handled lacked professionalism and clear communication. Families travelling with children should be aware of this policy before arrival, as it was not clearly explained at the time of booking. Very disappointing customer service.. also the two same size two bedroom apartments were completely different sizes and on different floors.. be aware of that they the same price too ( I recommend paying in cash still waiting for the pending bond hold been over seven days) don't even get me started on the constant fighting around the building and the blood everywhere disgusting

This review is for the cairns Central Plaza Apartment Hotel- be aware their is another property with a very similar name. I found out the hard way and arranged an Uber but for the other proprty! Pros: Within walking distance to shopping mall and train station Parking available Cons: A block of residential apartments that sell their spare rooms The room stank of bleach, overwhelmingly so. We had to leave the door open to try to get rid of the smell. Toilet would not stop running so we have to turn the cistern tap off every time we used it. The hardest back breaking beds I have ever slept in. An excuse for a kitchenette.....no stove, range or anything Threatening signs regarding smoke alarms-completely uncalled for. Limited reception hours Expensive! Synopsis: Either have a hotel or residents not both! Would I stay here again? No way !
