Very dated and not the cleanest hotel we have stayed in, and we don't believe it is value for money compared to others we stayed in. The location was good walking distance to everything and restaurant on site and the staff are very helpful and friendly

No toaster in the room. We've stayed in apartments all over the world and this is the first time there hasn't been a toaster in the room. Asked reception for one but they say the don't supply them, and suggested we go to the restaurant. Surely the lack of a toaster isn't being used to get guests to eat breakfast in their restaurant. If so, it didn't work with us. Also reported heaps of bird poo on the balcony, much of which looked to have been there a long time. The guy at reception said he would get it cleaned, but they only cleaned the fresh poo. There was also hornets' nests in the balcony roof and some parts of the balcony were covered in black soot. Disgraceful. As for first impressions, there was no floor covering in the lift.

Stayed in an apartment for 3 nights with husband, apartment very big and well equipped. Decor and fittings on the basic side but perfectly suitable for a few nights in Cairns. Good location short walk from sea front and restaurants etc. Staff very welcoming and accommodating, shout out to Chris from Middlesbrough for being especially helpful
