Comfort Inn & Suites City Terraces

With over two years between visits, nothing much has changed with this property - still good value for money, still complimentary pushbikes and still lovely managers (although, sadly, Will has passed away). Spacious and clean apartments about a 12-minute walk to the Esplanade (if the traffic lights are kind) and only a 5-minute walk to the major shopping centre and train station.

Lyn went out of her way to make sure that we had a wonderful stay in Cairns. We were up here to dive on the reef, and we were able to leave our extra bags at City Terraces while we were out on the reef for a few days. Our apartments were very comfortable, with ceiling fans and air conditioning. Our veranda overlooking the pool was a great place to sit and soak up the atmosphere. Free WIFI was appreciated as well. Lyn was able to suggest activities to fill our spare days, and was happy to book them for us. We made great use of the complimentary bicycles, which made getting around Cairns easy. The ride up to the botanical gardens was easy, as Cairns is very flat. City Terraces is only a few blocks from the very centre of Cairns, so walking in to restaurants was easy. The main shopping centre is also only a couple of blocks away, so it is very conveniently located. If we come back to Cairns again this is where we will be staying!

City Terraces are an excellent place to stay. We really enjoyed our 7 nights there. We had a 2-bedroom apartment with a laundry. The apartment was clean, very spacious, fully equipped and well maintained. The managers went out of their way to look after us. Nothing was too much trouble. Because it was not right in the city centre it was very quiet and peaceful. We would have no hesitation booking there if we are again visiting Cairns.
