Discovery Cairns

I'll start by saying that staff were friendly and eager to help. Location was good. Pricing ok. That's the only positive comments I have. The room was very disappointing with furnishing of very basic quality. Shower situated over bath with very high step over and no safety grips. Room could be better cleaned with remains of a bug that I squashed not disposed of. The phone didn't work, it was taken away and never replaced. Never stay here again.

Motel failed to lock the interconnecting door and an intruder accessed my room, leaving a circle of wet footprints around the room and my iphone charger and food from the fridge stolen. The 24-hour on-site manager was initially uncontactable, then slow to respond and overall didn't take the issue seriously and rude even when a police report was filed. Motel is now ignoring contact to avoid compensating for losses.

Nice usual stay at Cairns ( Great Barrier Reef jump off point ) last week. Great location, everything easily accessible, including v cheap public transport. Good food nearby - breakfast n speciality chinese restaurant. Woolworths ( grocery ) other useful shopping in 10 mns walk. Well appointed room . We did have issues with Bathroom door knob & Fantastic regulator but were attended to immediately on raising flag. Excellent, v helpful front desk Staff ! Will surely recommend for its value for money. Thnx guys
