Beach Club

Beach Club was one of the best experiences my wife and I have ever had. From the moment you get off the plane to when you get dropped back to the airport you are VERY well looked after. The staff were ALL fantastic, every meal superb (including room service) and the whole experience 11 out of 10. Can’t wait to go back there.

The Beach Club is a nice hotel in a beautiful location, but for us it didn’t quite feel like the five-star adults-only experience it’s positioned as. The pool and outlook are lovely, the rooms are nice with beautiful views of the bay and the food at the Beach Club itself is good. Breakfast is nice, although the menu is limited and gets repetitive after a couple of days. Having breakfast in your room is a great option and something we’d recommend. The included non-alcoholic drinks and barista coffees throughout the day are also a really nice touch. The biggest thing to be aware of is that while the Beach Club itself is adults-only, it doesn’t necessarily feel that way. It’s surrounded by large family resorts and, depending on where your room is, you can hear thumping music, children and babies screaming throughout the day. It wasn’t the peaceful break we thought it would be. Service is generally fine, but the attention to detail is lacking for a hotel at this price point. The birds are also a real pest. Cockatoos and crows are everywhere and we regularly saw them bothering guests and stealing things, including glasses / food. It’s an issue across the island rather than just at the Beach Club, but it definitely takes away from the experience. Our bigger issue was Hamilton Island itself. It just doesn’t feel like a luxury destination. It feels more like a holiday camp, with the Beach Club being the higher-end part of it. Outside the Beach Club, we found the food and drink options limited and generally low quality, with lots of fried options and not much variety or fresh options. Overall, there are things we liked about the Beach Club, particularly the pool, setting and food, but it wasn’t the peaceful five-star experience we expected. For us, two nights would be more than enough to enjoy the best of it before moving on.

We have just arrived home after a truly memorable 7 night stay at Beach Club. This year marked 10 years of stays at Beach Club and it was definitely one of our best to date. From the seamlessly easy pick up at the airport to all the special touches (all of which were noted and appreciated) and attention to detail throughout our stay, combined they all contributed in making our stay something truly special and memorable. The staff are what makes Beach Club run like clockwork and one of the reasons we keep returning year after year. Some of the staff that deserve a special mention are, Elena Beach Club Manager for making our celebration so very special and something we will always remember, Luke Front Desk Manager, Bella, Hailey (Bar), Emily, Kinney, Angelina, Carmelia (Spanish) Kevin (French) & James. Another reason why Beach Club is a favourite for us is because it is Adults Only, therefore generally quiet, peaceful and the perfect place for us to unwind and have a much needed break. You can do as much or as little as you like. Thank you again to the wonderful team at Beach Club and we look forward to our next stay.
