Australis Cairns Beach Resort

10-10-25 We stayed here for a wedding up the road but wish we just got an Uber ride from city centre. At first appearance the place was nice and friendly staff. We got to our room and thought it wasn’t too bad. Once we started looking, the fridge was dirty, the plates were dirty as well as the cutlery had all old food stuck to them and stains. The TV inputs would not work, the TV remote had all of the numbers etc rubbed off so you didn’t know what button to press. The room was dirty and had broken table and burn marks on cushion on the bed. The pool and bbq area was cleaner than our room. There are no lifts so you have to drag your bags up 5 flights of stairs if staying on top floor. The A/C rattled all night in the bedroom and bed was very hard not comfortable at all. For $340 per night I would expect more, we ended up at Crystalbrook Flynn’s absolutely gorgeous for much cheaper rate per night. Only good thing was pool and location to cafe across the road.

Cairns Beach resort is a try hidden paradise, away from other sites, peaceful , conveniently located near the beach and close to Cairns and grounds and gardens beautifully maintained. Lovely pool area with BBQ facility. Has ample parking

Beware, this hotel is not what it appears. It is really not a resort it is more of a long term rental. Holloway Beach is not Cairns, it is at least a 20 minute drive to anything to do with Cairns. And there is virtually nothing to do in Holloway Beach, one tiny cafe and a very small pizza place. The beach is closed. This resort is old and tired, reception closes at 5pm, the place is kind of spooky.
