Boathouse Apartments By Outrigger

Fantastic location. We walked everywhere and didnt move the car. Brilliant. Fantastic view of the harbour from each room. So nice to sit on the balcony. Very happy with our choice. For the price we would have loved to have at least a midweek cleaning, amenities refill and linen change. Just be aware that you will have to do this yourself ( do your own laundry, get your own toilet paper , laundry detergent, hand soap etc after the initial supply runs out). Cleaning could be improved ( there was a build up of dust in the light bulbs, the kitchen pans were really dirty and we had to scrub them before using them, the doona had stains on it) but otherwise good. I'm not sure if cleaning is arranged by each individual unit owner and maybe the standard is different in each room?. Some units are privately owned so maybe they rent out their own apartments ? Not sure. Our apartments were nice just a little tired looking with some scratched walls and damaged fittings. Having said all that, i would absolutely return here still. Pool was lovely and big. Can be quite chilly as it's not warmed. No umbrella shades provided. Pool wasn't cleaned one morning as we noticed some rubbish from the day before was still there the next day. Spa was just ok. Tip: being a sleeping mask if you're sensitive to light. I had a room that was next to the stairwells and at night the lights shine in to the bedroom. It's intensely bright. There are blinds but they definitely aren't blockout. Tip: watch out for snakes when walking at night along the path. I almost stood on one. Staff are lovely and very helpful.

My husband and I recently visited Airlie Beach for my 40th birthday, and chose to stay at The Boathouse Apartments as a treat. I am so glad we did, it was amazing! We had come across from Daydream Island around 10am and asked to leave our bags at reception until we could check in. The staff member offered to check if our room was ready, which it was, so we were given early access. Our room was clean, spacious and well appointed, with very comfortable furniture. The room was kept at the perfect temperature to beat the humid February weather. The balconies off the room were great. We spent a fair bit of time out on the larger one after our swims. The sun sparkling on the water of the marina was so peaceful. The location of the hotel is great. Walking distance to the main street, but far enough away that it's lovely and quiet in the evenings. There are shops and cafes below the hotel, we enjoyed a meal at both cafes over our stay. The pool was lovely. The space it's in, is really nice, with loungers, tables, chairs and BBQ facilities. We spent time there every day of our stay. The staff we came across were all so wonderful and accommodating, not only letting us into our room early, but Mason, who was on call Saturday evening, was understanding and came out as soon as he could to let us back in after we'd left our key in the room. The only very minor issue we had - when showering in the second bathroom, (because we prefer a walk in shower) the water goes everywhere. There was a mop in the room, but I feel like a squeegee style mop would be better suited and would make the floor safer to walk on quicker. Honestly though, this was such a minor issue. If we head to Airlie again, we would absolutely stay here again. I've already recommended it to family.
