Picture Point Apartments

Disappointing experience at these apartments. Strange damp smell in bedroom, weirdly the bedroom set up with Queen bed had the tiniest bathroom but the one set up with the twin singles had the much larger bathroom. 5 nights booked and only suppled with 2 rolls of toilet paper for 4 people & 2 tiny bars of soap. We had apartment 3 - right on walkway from carpark. Noise from other apartments very loud - just day to day noise, ie when we had the door to our balcony open we could hear the cartoons on tv in next unit… Balcony had zero privacy - sitting at the small table is almost as close as sitting at a restaurant with neighbours on each side and only a low glass divider between each one. Carpark - no clear instructions about how to get in to it, but none of the keys we had worked so we just parked in guest carpark. Pool - scruffy furniture, leaves everywhere. Not particularly pleasant. And the worst part - really short/small tiled steps from apartment down to walkway to car park. As a result of these I had a fall and severely broke my ankle so after spending the night in Noosa hospital I’m now awaiting ankle reconstruction surgery.

We booked this apartment six months earlier and were very excited about the thought of staying here. As far as location it’s good because you can walk to the junction and Hastings Street. If you had any issues with walking you would NOT stay here as the walk up the hill from Hastings st is one that will elevate your HR! The appt we stayed in was old and tbh really tight as far as what they offered. Literally the smallest bar of soap for 4 of us. 2 dishwasher tablets (we booked for a week) One towel. No beach towel , salt pepper or any start up items. I won’t stay here again due to the price (very very expensive) for what you get. I wld consider other options first. Would be ok if cost split between a few ppl but bedrooms are tiny and one split system for whole place so it’s hot as in the appt.

Having booked Penthouse 11, we could not have been more disappointed with the accommodation we received. We picked up two sets of keys from the agents (one of which did not work at all) and headed off to the apartment. A key needed to be used to open the garage door (which stopped working at all after 2 days). We then lugged our suitcases up four flights of chipped tiled steps (no lifts) to the unit. The smell of damp hit us as we entered and there was mould on the ceiling. The apartment is in original condition (about 30 years old I think) and is in serious need of a renovation. The carpets were threadbare and torn and the furniture was shabby. The sofa had a leg that was wobbly and bent. The decor was uninviting and included many plastic plants that were disintegrating and dusty. The outside areas were dirty and unappealing and the roof terrace was unusable - up a narrow spiral staircase with a jacuzzi we were told we couldn't use. Fly screens were torn and mosquitoes were everywhere as it had been raining a lot. Strict instructions were given that we were to leave the apartment clean and to remove all the rubbish from the bins to the outdoor bins ourselves. This was expensive accommodation and certainly bad value for money. Will definitely chose somewhere else next time!
