Tingirana is in a convenient location right on Hastings street with stunning beach views. Really lovely luxe hamptons feel. Beautiful high end finishes inside and gorgeous Appelle toiletries. Spacious bathroom, washing machine and dryer was great as we had a lot of laundry to do. Very comfortable bed. Pastries, fruit, coffee & newspapers provided each morning for guests & served downstairs but be quick as it was almost gone by 7.30am. The negatives unfortunately - what felt like non stop loud noise the entire stay which defeated the purpose of a relaxing mid winter break. We were woken every morning at 5 am by the restaurant immediately below when they unrolled their rusty hinged stacker doors and dragged around furniture resulting in the apartment floor shaking. Started with cleaners I assume, then later staff arriving? Noise continued until 7am ish, so no sleeping in at all. The restaurant doof doof music was so loud during the day we had to close the balcony door to try and muffle the sound. This prevents use of the balcony for quiet reading or relaxing and no fresh ocean breeze either. The restaurant noise continues most of the day until around 10pm when the restaurant packs up dragging everything inside and again the rusty track stacker doors being closed and the entire unit floor shaking. Was unfortunate as we had driven so far on the first night we went to bed at 9pm and were woken by noise at 10 pm. There is a council laneway alongside the end Level 1 unit and the restaurant smokers come outside standing under the bedroom window chatting loudly and chuffing cigarette smoke onto the balcony. Would be an issue for non smokers. Lots of screaming girls in the laneway at 3 am woke us again. Not much the hotel can do about that but is something to be aware of when booking. Laneway is busy 24/7. The huge amount of ongoing noise ruined our stay but the hotel itself was lovely and we would stay again but would be careful not to stay in level 1 apartments or on the levels above the laneway/ restaurant end purely because of the ongoing noise when you may want a peaceful break

Black Mould, Loud, Shoebox Room & Faulty Towers Management Avoid. We were shocked to find visible black mould throughout our whole room. It was tiny, dark and felt more like a shoebox than a luxury hotel room. The room smelt strongly of mould, had no extraction fan, was freezing cold, and even the tea bags were mouldy. Combined with constant noise, it made for an extremely unpleasant stay. Management was the biggest disappointment. Instead of taking our concerns seriously, they were dismissive and defensive. The whole experience felt like an episode of Faulty Towers. Refused a refund. The only five-star feature was the pool and spa. Everything else from the room quality and breakfast to the way our complaint was handled to the cold room fell well below the standard this property claims to offer. We left extremely disappointed and will never return. Based on what we experienced, the condition of our room raised serious hygiene concerns that we believe warrant investigation. The mould issues date back to 2022. I wish I read the reviews before I left. Believe them.

Fantastic location and very friendly staff. Rooms are well appointed. It is expensive but in our view worth it.
