Staff were lovely (but rarely available) as they worked very limited hours. The property is better than the Saray'i down the road, but only because the cleaning is better. The rooms are very dated, old, dark and cold. They all have old 80's dirty terracotta tiles with cheap black plastic hard furniture and broken shutters. The bathrooms are well overdue for a refurbishment, with broken soap holders, old tiles and dangerous shower over bath situation which is just not suitable for anyone, particularly as the baths are delaminating. While the lower room tariff is intended to reflect the room condition, when you come here on holidays it's sad when your surroundings make you depressed when you come home for the evening. The rooms need a fortune spent on them to be comfortable, functional and attractive. It needs a substantial investment to continue to attract the price it does, even when discounted. Unfortunately the rest of the property is also tired. All the common areas are very tired and worn, and the pool, while it looks enticing it's weirdly deep and the spa is out of bounds as it's full of corrosion and falling into the pool itself. So, unavailable for I imagine a very long time. There are limited carparks, so if you go out for dinner, expect to find somewhere else for your car and walk back. I really do wonder how they will dig themselves out of this hole, the property needs some very expensive TLC. I guess they're waiting to redevelop it. Sadly paradise lost.

Accommodation was spacious for us as a family of 5, it had a great location. I would just say the place as a whole feels/looks very tired. Rooms are perfectly clean, just dated. The pool area was maintained a little more at the back end of our stay. The spa/hot tub had rough edges due to missing tiles. The pool for a number of days had loose tiles placed on the edge of the pool (I can only assume a guest found these in the pool and made a pile of them on the side), they were cleared away after a couple of days. It to me felt more like an Air BnB, staff reception hours are fairly short and they were various notices that if you called the emergency number you would be fined. Totally understand that they want to avoid staff being called out - just could be worded a little better and make guests feel a little more welcome. Overall, great location, accommodation is clean and the one time I did go to reception I found them friendly. Just be warned in general about Palm Cove - you can’t get a drink or food much after 9/9.30pm.

Unfortunately such a bitter disappointment that we spontaneously booked another hotel. Clearly not a 4-star hotel in our eyes. Rooms are worn out and ussy. Pool dirty. Reception only until 5pm. And the worst fan mounted next to the bed and air conditioning does not work properly. It's always hot in the room. I can't do it. No recommendation from us.
