Surfers Aquarius on the Beach

We stayed one night in a 2 bedroom Deluxe ocean facing apartment. The apartment was beautiful and well-appointed with a modern kitchen. The beds were comfy and the living area was spacious with expansive direct ocean views. The building is right next to the beach so you cross one walkway and are on sand. There’s a heated pool and spa on premise. We found check in to be a breeze and the parking was convenient. There is wifi included but it was patchy. One issue we had was the apartment above us had noisy youths and we could hear them for much of the night.

Firstly, it's true that the actual location cannot be beat. Was the tallest apartment block when it was built in the early 80s and is right on the beachfront with the ocean views. All the staff and residents that we met in the elevators were super friendly. The apartment itself was big , as older hotels seem to be, and it had everything we needed even if a little bit on the tired side (hole in the sofa, scratches on the table) . For me personally, the bed was too soft and not great for my back but that the luck of the draw with managed apartments- they are not all the same. But most of the time in the apartment was spend on the balcony watch the ocean. We were there for Blues on Broadbeach and it was a 20minute walk to Kurrawa Park, a 10min walk to the tram then a short 50c trip or a $10 taxi. There are two pool areas- an inside and outside. As it was raining the inside pool was more popular but we actually avoided this as it was predominately kids dive bombing and yelling. But they were clearly having fun. We opted for the outdoor pool in the rain which was beautiful- warmer than expected and could so short laps. The steam room was good but despite the sauna having the hot rocks, there was a sing to say no water was supposed to be poured on them so it never got to a decent sauna temperature. Maybe it was broken? There was a lovely outdoor area with a few small gazebos and grassy areas which, I'm sure, would be lovely on a sunny day. And direct access to a patrolled part of the beach so good for ocean goers. and the coastal track right outside- 20 mins one way to Broadbeach, 15 mins the other way to the heart of Surfers. Not bad! Compared to some of the newer 2-bed room apartments, I'd say this was value for money and will visit again.

We had a spectacular stay here. Our two bedroom unit had fabulous, wrap around beach views from just about every room. The apartment was clean and had everything we needed for a short stay. Front desk staff were lovely and assisted with a late checkout when requested. Location is absolutely awesome - you literally go out the gate and you are on the beach. It's also a great mid way point between Burleigh and the main beaches with a wide running/walking track right outside the hotel. We were really impressed with this stay. In fact, we are already considering booking for a second visit!
