We stayed two nights on our way back from Central Australia. The hotel has friendly, hardworking staff, but I think they could do with some help. The service was quite good, although our room wasn't serviced after our first night. The foyer is an impressive high-ceilinged space and if you walk down the stairs there is a wonderful underground museum located underneath the carpark. We chose an underground twin room and it was quite an experience- the dugout walls were beautiful. The room itself was dated, but still functioned well, had plenty of comfortable seating and was clean. Being underground it maintained a pleasant temperature and had a fan for a bit extra airflow. The restaurant and bar area have been refurbished to a high standard and provided delicious meals. If the rooms were refurbished it could be an exceptional hotel. I loved staying here and highly recommend it.

Great location, but unfortunatly the rooms were very outdated and smelt bad. The shower was mouldey. Way to expense for the room for 1 night. The underground pub i would never reccomend as one of my family members got food posioning. The chicken and veggies were off. Will never go back.

This was the biggest disappointment of our Australian trip. Having spent a significant amount more to secure an "underground room experience" we were very disappointed to walk into our room (at ground level) which looked like a 1970's kitsch plastering and painting attempt to simulate an underground room. Breakfast was a similar debarkle with only one staff member on duty to cater for a known group of around 25 guests who had been given breakfast vouchers the night before.
