What a beautiful hotel in a beautiful area. From check in to check out the experience is grand. The hotel is a heritage hotel but the decor and surrounds are very up to date and comfortable. We stayed in the Gatsby room with a fabulous bronze bath. The room is spacious enough, and the bath lovely - my only faults would be that the water is not super hot and the toilet is within the actual room which makes privacy a bit lacking. Also, it would be fantastic if there were bedside lamps - the lighting doesn’t support those of us who like to read in bed! Other than that, the room is lovely. Breakfast is fantastic - cooked to order as well as a plate of pastries, fruit and yoghurt and very nice coffee. The gardens are superb. Highly, highly recommend for a luxurious stay in a peaceful setting.

Gorgeous hotel that oozes character from the gardens to every part of the hotel. We enjoyed drinks and dessert in the lounge, a delicious meal in the restaurant as well as a well thought out breakfast, and made the most of of the mineral spa on site. Only complaint is the climb into the spa bath to have a shower - ridiculously high! We'll be back but not in that room.

Really disappointing experience. The room we were given looked nothing like what was advertised. The listing showed a full kitchen, dining table, in-room bath, and a garden view. In reality, we got a small room with a bar fridge, no kitchen, no dining table, no bath, and our view was literally of wall panels. When we raised this with reception, we were told it was booked through a third-party app and they “don’t know what was advertised,” which isn’t an acceptable response when the booking is being sold under the hotel’s name. The staff member did apologise, which was appreciated, but unfortunately an apology doesn’t fix a misleading listing or the disappointment of not receiving what was paid for. We also weren’t able to be moved because the hotel was fully booked. Overall, this felt like false advertising, poor communication, and a very frustrating stay as soon as we seen the room. I wouldn’t recommend booking unless you’re okay with the room potentially not matching what’s shown online…
