Quality Bayside Geelong

This Hotel is very well presented, modern and clean. The secure parking is excellent. The decor throughout is fresh, tasteful and modern contemporary, the architect/ builder/ interior designer did very well on this new building (but the plumber ruined it see below). The staff are friendly and welcoming. The breakfast is decent - we had it included with our room - fresh fruit/ cereal / pastries/ toast / barista coffee and eggs cooked for you. The room was comfortable, the bed was nice and firm, large TV and beautifully clean bathroom. Cleanliness is something I always look for and critique. I am pleased to report there were no signs of mould, it was very well cleaned/ maintained. I hope it stays that way!! The indoor pool / sauna / gym were nice. I would have preferred the pool water temperature up a few degrees including the sauna (+10 degrees would be good, so I don’t have to stay in there for an hour to break a sweat) It’s almost perfect except for a couple of bug bearers. 1) The shower is big enough for six people but the water pressure- even a mouse would complain. I don’t know if it’s to “save water” however, maybe I wouldn’t need a 30 minute shower if the water didn’t trickle out soft and slow! This in itself is frustrating enough to make complaint, because a good shower is therapy. It’s a premium hotel and I expect premium water flow! 2) Francas Ristorante. The menu is upmarket Italian. Despite this I couldn’t help but feel there was not an Italian chef hiding in that kitchen as the food was good but questionable for the price and I am an Italian citizen so I know great Italian food when I eat it 🤌. The carbonara pasta sauce was thick and extremely rich in a bad way, very salty and covered in pepper, far from a traditional carbonara from Italy. The pizza was average, they bought the right ingredients but it lacked finesse. The restaurant presents well but they have some work to do to impress and live up to their menu and pricing. Overall this is a nice place and unexpected in Geelong so I was pleasantly surprised. I will return when they fix the shower!

Staff were amazing, everyone we met were friendly and so helpful. Accommodation and food fabulous. Definitely will be a return visit. Thank you

Recently refurbished and an extremely comfortable hotel. Rooms are modern with all the trimmings, comfortable bed and up to the minute technology. Recommend to anyone who wants to stay close to Geelong city centre.
