I chose the Grampians Motel purely and simply because I wanted a room with a bath at a reasonable price, and the superior rooms offer just that. It’s an older-style property, pretty basic in design and decor, but it was clean and I was travelling solo and spending my days hiking, and my room had everything I needed so no problems at all. The iron, hairdryer and basic crockery/cutlery/microwave all came in useful. There was also a toaster and kettle. The coffee machine was great, and definitely a bonus, but there were only 2 capsules and I used them on my first morning. Location is lovely (lots of wildlife) but it’s is a bit far from Halls Gap to walk if you’re heading out to eat/drink in the evening. The onsite restaurant was closed due to staff shortage when I stayed in mid-March.

Beautiful location! Mountains around, large gardens, fire pit, small pool to cool of after hiking. Around sunset the grass area in front fills up with kangaroos. The establishment does not serve dinner right now, but does serve breakfast. Close to Hall's Gap which has great places to eat. I hope to return !
