Bellevue On The Lakes

We recently stayed here while attending a funeral and unfortunately had a really disappointing experience. Our room accommodated 8 people, including an 8-week-old baby, and at 8pm there was no hot water at all. To make matters worse, no one in the room had even showered yet, so this was not an issue caused by overuse in our room. After a long and emotional day, not being able to shower or properly care for a newborn was incredibly frustrating and inconvenient. When we contacted the front desk, we were advised there was nothing that could be done and that we simply had to wait for the system to “come back on and reset” at 12am. With a newborn baby and multiple people needing access to hot water, this response was really unacceptable. We were offered $100 back on the room, however this did not feel like an appropriate resolution given the circumstances and overall inconvenience caused. Very disappointing experience overall.

Stayed at Bellevue on the Lakes over the Easter long weekend. Unfortunately the experience was disappointing. The property is very dated and in need of renovation. The parking is clearly designed for small cars and there aren’t enough spaces, so we often had to park on the street instead. The WiFi was extremely poor and basically unusable. Even mobile reception was an issue — 5G was not available inside the room and signal was very weak. The bathroom had several problems. The shower door did not seal properly, so water leaked onto the floor outside the shower. The hairdryer provided looked like it was from the 1990s and barely worked. Noise was another issue. You can hear noise from outside the hotel and also anyone walking past or using the front door area, which made it hard to sleep. The most concerning issue was hygiene. When packing at check-out, we discovered a stain on the bedding which appeared to be a dried blood stain. This was extremely upsetting as my 6-year-old child had been sleeping in the bed. We raised it with the hotel, but the response was dismissive and insulting. They tried to indicate that it was us who stained the bedding. Overall, not a comfortable stay and not recommended.

From the pictures and the price, I was expecting a quiet room with a nice view. Firstly, the bush in the car park had overgrown, making access difficult to the last available park. The door of the room was hard to open, then the problems started. The front window is about 1 metre from the foot path and you can hear the conversation of those walking past through the single glazed window. There is no view of the lake from the ground floor, only the car park across the road; a road on which there is a great deal of day and into-the-night traffic and noise. The bed is too soft, the toilet seat ancient plastic ... and worst of all, the small fridge sounds more like a four wheel drive vehicle is parked in the room than a cooling device in an expensive hotel room.
