Substandard On the positive side it's in a fabulous location - close to everything we needed. Having cooking facilities available was helpful as there was no breakfasts offered. However, the unmanned automated check-in system was exceptionally problematic (the phone number given for the help desk was very unhelpful). Even though the website stated rooms were serviced DAILY ours was not serviced. Again the "help desk person" was exceptionally unhelpful telling me at 10.30pm I needed to go to another hotel to get clean towels!! There are patches of mould growing on the carpet in the hallways. The main locked door is a hazard for jamming fingers. So if you want an uncomfortable springy bed with "plastic" feeling sheets with no human support (had two intercom phones on the wall, but not connected) at all this is the place to stay at.

The journey through the building to our room was unpleasant; dirty and damaged. Thankfully, the room was better, although the kitchen floor was sticky, the carpet had visible debris and the glass tabletop was grubby. There’s scant utensils and equipment in the kitchen so don’t expect to self cater without first taking stock. The mattresses and pillows are ok but room temperature is not a choice. There’s no way to control the heating/cooling. Housekeeping was too difficult for staff even after asking for a fresh toilet brush (the current one was overly contaminated) and vacuumed floors. Neither request was acknowledged. I had to request new face washers and for bins to be emptied. We stayed three days. Perhaps the biggest bug bear was the absence of reception staff. After waiting 25 mins for staff to arrive at the property and then ignored until I requested attention, I was met with attitude and dialogue that was offensive and fell well short of basic expectation for any reception staff. I’m left with feelings of regret for actually paying to stay at this property and will never return. The people who were also waiting for reception to arrive felt the same. I recommend any prospective guest to reconsider prior to booking. Pay a bit more for a better experience. I write this whilst sitting in the lounge room, wearing a puffer jacket for warmth. 26 May 2026

DO NOT TRUST THIS HOTEL! I booked this room months ago and now they have cancelled it on me the day before I was due to arrive in Melbourne. I could clearly see my exact same room still available at a higher price now. They cancel so they can sell it for more money when something big is on in the city. This is the second time they have cancelled my booking at the last minute-they did it when the rugby was on too. Now I have to pay more for another hotel on the same night because it's now in demand and I only have a day to book it. They have ruined my plans and cost me money. They said they had bed bugs in the room I booked. I will NEVER use this hotel again.
