Comfort Apartments Royal Gardens

Coming from regional vic we needed some flexible accommodation as a family member was in St Vincent’s private hospital. I called direct and Anthony was beyond helpful on finding myself and my mum a suitable room and working with us when our plans changed and we needed an extra stay. The apartments are on the older side, but ours contained everything we needed to make us comfortable. Tucked away in a cobblestone ally with beautiful gardens, it is just around the corner from cafes, restaurants and about 300 meters to St Vincent’s hospitals it was perfect for us. Staff very friendly and helpful ( especially Anthony ), would definitely recommend if you are looking somewhere close to the hospital.

Good position. Friendly staff. Well maintained central lawn Welcomes pets. Comfortable bed. But that is where the positives end. My apartment ( unit 45) was dingy and badly maintained Curtains falling off the hooks ( so no block out and a bright outside light) . Shower with peeling paint on the ceiling and dodgy shower base. The door bumped into the vanity so you have to step out sideways. Thin towels. Good hot water but the plumbing screamed Both toilet seats weren’t fixed properly and the upstairs toilet ran. The electric switch in the kitchen was falling out of the wall. An oven but no baking dish or casserole - nothing you could use in it. Overgrown courtyard with broken chair and dirty table. The areas they cleaned were clean but there were dirty areas ( windowsills and a curious shelf on the stairs) which remained untouched. Supposedly serviced twice a week but I don’t think it was ever vacuumed Nowhere near 4 star

Whist not in the heart of the city, this property is a very good option for families visiting Melbourne, especially if you have a car. We were in a two story apartment wth two bedrooms, two bathrooms (the one in the main bedroom had a toilet but the other didn't). There is a laundry with a washer and dryer (we couldn't figure out how to get the dryer to work, though) and toilet downstairs. There is a full fridge with a huge freezer and ice trays. The kitchen is a bit tred (some cupboards falling off), but overall, it was good for a family. Plenty of bowls, cups, glasses, etc. There was a microwave, toaster, and kettle. There is plenty of parking available on the property. The security seems very good with lots of cameras etc. Thr gardens are beautiful and great for kids to run around and even play a round of cricket. There was a very nice looking pool, but it wasn't warm enough to go in. The location is great and walking distance to the city, cafes and the museum and exhibition building. The only downside was the walls arevrry thin and you can hear everything!! Someone in the next room left the bathroom fan on all night and we were going mad from the constant whirring.....argh. Better than hearing people usong the bathroom guess... Overall I wpukd recommend this as a ood solid and affordable place for families to come and visit Melbourne
