This is a lovely hotel my only negative is the pool area. There is no lights in the pool / spa area at all aside from one little blue light in the pool and spa themselves. There is a light when you first walk in but it seems to dim after a while of no one walking in then there and there is no other lights so it’s SO dark in there and a little off putting my daughter was a bit scared. There is no way you could relax and read a book it’s too dark. I asked a few staff members and they were a bit confided like that’s how it always is.
The pool itself was heated well in winter but the spa was way too hot and the bubbles weren’t working which I only discovered after trying the button several times and then calling reception to ask and they told me they hadn’t worked in a while?.
It’s a shame because it would be decent with some more lights. There’s literally no lights in the roof. It’s bizarre. My photo actually makes it look lighter than it does in reality.

The hotel is in a great convenient location with lots around it. I did find it comfortable to work from of an evening though the rooms might be a little out-dated and there is not much in the way of amenities, mini bar etc.

Dated every corner, feels more like a 3*. As the rooms are old, the upside is they are on the bigger size compared to most in the city. That aside, the cleanliness, decor and vibe are just sad. This is not the first observation/ post about finding clumps of dust in the bathroom vent, as a branded hotel like Marriot, really expect this should be addressed ASAP.
