Incredible 24 hours at Mount Hart – my only regret is not staying longer! Mount Hart is a true oasis in the outback. After driving almost 50 minutes down the station track from the Gibb River Road, I was amazed by what awaited us. It's hard to believe a place like this exists in the middle of the Kimberley. The glamping tents, set against the breathtaking backdrop of Mount Matthew, are absolutely stunning. The beautiful established trees throughout the grounds create a peaceful atmosphere, and the outdoor bar is the perfect place to unwind after a day of exploring. The espresso martinis deserve a special mention. I rarely order them because they're so often disappointing, but the bar staff here absolutely nailed them. Pair that with the live music, and it made for a perfect evening. We stayed in one of the ensuite safari tents, and it exceeded every expectation. It was incredibly peaceful, with our own private deck where we could sit, relax, and simply listen to the sounds of nature. Pure bliss. Dinner at Pippa's Corner was another highlight. We enjoyed the three-course menu, and every dish was exceptional. The barramundi was, without question, the best I've had anywhere in the Kimberley. A beautiful creek winds its way through the property, with a lovely walking trail connecting the caravan sites, safari tents, and homestead. The walk itself is tranquil, and taking a swim in the creek was the perfect way to cool off. The following day we took the helicopter flight to Twin Flame Falls, and it completely blew my mind. Seeing the Kimberley from the air gives you an entirely new appreciation for just how vast, rugged, and spectacular this landscape really is. Landing beside a remote waterfall with no one else around, exploring at your own pace, then enjoying a picnic prepared by the Mount Hart team with a glass of champagne was an experience I'll never forget. Mount Hart delivers so much more than accommodation—it's an unforgettable Kimberley experience. From the warm hospitality and incredible food to the luxurious safari tents and once in a lifetime adventures, every detail exceeded our expectations. If you're travelling the Gibb River Road, do yourself a favour and stay here. You won't regret it.

It's an amazing location despite the tough drive in. The bar area was really nice and great to have live music, although a very limited menu. The restaurant menu was a ridiculous price so we didn't eat there. The Barker Pool and the pontoon at the campground were both nice spots to cool off. We stayed in an ensuited safari tent and it was pleasant enough but outragiously overpriced for what it was. I appreciate that costs are higher due to the location, but $590 a night for a tent? We would not go again.

Yes, it’s 50km off the Gibb. OK, there are corrugations and rocks. And 20 water crossings. But the grassy campground by the river, under the trees, with the hot showers and flush toilets is pretty damn nice. The bar, meals and gardens at the homestead are very cool. The staff are friendly and the food is good too. There are two gorgeous swimming holes to visit nearby, and another at the campsite. But the secret sauce of Mt Hart, channeling the likes of Blind Lemon Jefferson, Watermelon Slim, and Boxcar Shorty, is Chafin’ Chad Smith, the man of Chat. Lovelorn singer, some-time songwriter, and gun guitarist, be sure to catch one of Chafin’s evening performances. From Americana and BritRock, to good old Aussie anthems, this young bloke has the chops to do justice to them all. As Molly used to say, “Do yourself a favour”.
