Ningaloo Reef Resort Coral Bay

Do not stay at this caravan park. We were there for 3 nights, booked for 4 nights but left as soon as we could arrange other accommodation. The only accommodation available was a very basic cabin (no bathroom/toilet facilities). The villa was dirty, advertised as having bedding for a family of 4, however the fourth single bed had a disgusting and awful foam mattress. They didn’t have all the beds made up for us despite our booking and so we had to request bedding and then make it up ourselves. The shower/toilet block is in need of repairs and renovations. We were at the back of the caravan park close to the staff accommodation, so got to enjoy loud music and partying until early hours of the morning. The tours we paid over $3k for (whale sharks and manta rays) were cancelled with little notice. Overall a very negative experience at Coral Bay. Take my advice and avoid visiting.

Needed to speak with the customer service staff due to changes in our travel plans. Although they must be inundated with calls from customers who have booked, wondering if the site is operational, the service was amazing. I spoke with Vicky who was totally switched on, had my bookings at hand immediately and assisted with available options. Best service this year!

If you approach this as one step up from camping then the garden villa is sufficient but for the price it’s somewhat disappointing. Toaster didn’t work and had to request replacement. Tongs didn’t work, just went and bought a pair at the shop. Not enough cutlery for number of people in the villa. Beds and bedding are average, shower head barely sprayed water, ended up using ablution block as it was better water pressure. We enjoyed a glass bottom boat tour with great guid and skipper and highly recommend this however unfortunately we had a weird experience with booking the tour at front counter, we were overcharged and the woman was argumentative. When she finally admitted she had charged incorrectly her attitude was ‘too bad, too late now’. We gave up and accepted the overpayment but just another example of how the park takes advantage of having no competition in the area. In saying all of this, it is our third stay here as Coral Bay is an amazing location, highly recommend visiting the area, just come with low expectations for accommodation and service.
